Mohammad Hamid Ansari Biography. Born on 1st April 1937, Mohammad Hamid Ansari is the 13th and current Vice President of India. He is also the President of the Indian Institute of Public Administration and the chancellor of Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Mohammad Hamid Ansari served as a Vice-President of India for a period of 10 years in a row. He was appointed in 2007. He has also been an Indian ambassador and an ex-chairman of the Rajya Sabha. After Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, he is the longest-serving Vice-President of the country.
